Rachael Finch comes under fire for running behind her daughter in race (2024)

Rachael Finch has been slammed by a popular influencer podcast for running behind her daughter while screaming words of encouragement during a school cross-country race.

The Miss Universe Australia winner turned fitness influencer, 35, raised eyebrows on Friday when she uploaded a video of herself jogging behind daughter Violet, eight, as she competed against her peers.

'Here we go, it's the second down hill. Suck in the air. Go, go go! Watch the rocks! That's it Violet, well done,' she yelled while her daughter ran, captioning the video: 'Crazy cam'.

Unimpressed with the video, Amy, Kate and Sophie Taeuber took aim at the mummy blogger on their Outspoken podcast this week.

'I first saw people talking about this online before seeing the video, and at first I was like, "Oh, she's probably just one of those supportive parents".But this was the next level,' one sister said.

'I don't understand how this school let her run behind her child during the race. Surely it would have been really off putting for the other kids?' another agreed.

One sister pointed out that there would have been plenty of children running behind Rachael, given that Violet placed 12th out of 100.

'Can you imagine the other mums there seeing this? [They'd be asking], "Why the hell is she allowed at the school on the course?"' another added.

While the triplets commended Rachael for showing interest in her daughter's school activities, they claimed her behaviour that day 'seemed a bit odd'.

'It seems like she's vicariously living through her child because this seemed to be one of her dreams,' one podcaster said, as another agreed: 'Oh, it was very difficult to watch.'

Meanwhile one sister insisted: 'I would be pretty p**sed off if I was a parent at this school.

Unimpressed with the video, identical triplets Amy, Kate and Sophie Taeuber launched a scathing tirade against the mummy blogger on their Outspoken podcast this week

'[Imagine if] I'm very excited for my child to be competing in this race, but I'm thinking, "Well, no wonder my child didn't do so well when they've got the advantage of having their mum there breathing down their neck, telling them to keep going".'

The sisters said they were 'surprised' Rachael put the video of on socialmedia, and noted that it seems Violet has 'a lot of pressure on her to do well'.

However, Rachael has plenty of online followers who are fans of her hands-on approach to teaching her children about health and fitness.

It comes after Rachael recently hit back at cruel trolls who accused her of 'underfeeding' her children (both pictured) with a 'strict' diet

The brunette recently shared a video of Violet playing tennis, explaining in the caption that she and husband Michael Miziner 'believe that guiding our children on a strong and positive path to believing they can achieve anything, is one of the most valuable things they can take away from their childhood.'

'I think you’re amazing parent and more parents need to push their kids to never give up and to always give their all,' one follower commented.

'I totally agree with your philosophy. Children need a balance of discipline and creativity,' another agreed.

'I agree. Giving your beautiful kids the opportunities they will be able to achieve so much in their lives,' a third added.

The TV personality was recently branded an 'almond mum' and accused of 'endangering' her kids after sharing a video of herself making them 'naked burgers' using lettuce cups instead of bread rolls.

'Almond mum' is a pejorative term for a mother who pushes disordered and unhealthy eating habits on her children. It is often used to refer to parents who are 'obsessed' with nutrition.

A fired-up Rachael said the baseless accusation was frankly 'hilarious'.

Sharing a photo of herself cuddling up to her two children, whom she shares with her dancer husbandMichael Miziner, she wrote: 'Someone officially labeled me an 'almond mum' this week.

'Definition according toGoogle: 'A parent who follows incredibly strict or dangerously unhealthy eating habits and attempts to force them on their children.'

'This was because I made naked burgers for dinner (meat patty and veggies wrapped in a lettuce cup).

'Whilst it's downright nasty, it's also absurdly hilarious. I've become a pro at emotionally responding to these comments now.

'I've had a giggle with a lot of you on what type of mum you would be if you were labelled by a food. Comment what type of food mum you would be?'

Several of Rachael's followers agreed 'almond mum' was an unfair label.

One commented: 'I wish my kids happily ate what yours do!Such an inspiration to a healthy lifestyle and teaching your children wonderful habits.'

Another wrote: 'Oh, my goodness. I have no words.'
